I want to wait for him... Do you think its ok?

You said it yourself: "He is worth the wait." If you think it's worth waiting for him, then go for it. I do think he is right in saying that you should see other people if the opportunity presents itself. Through seeing other people, you can see whether you really want him or not. It's understandable that you like him so much that you are willing to wait for him, but you should also realize that if you wait too long, you might miss out on other opportunities with better relationships, ones that you would be more sure of instead of this tug-of-war between "I want a serious relationship" and "I just want to be friends." As much as it's great that you're thinking about him and you want him to be happy, you have to think about yourself too. What it comes down to is how long you think you are willing to wait and how happy you think you will be.
