Why did we give up the good music ? Why did blacks give up the good music ?

True, that is so true, My mum (mixed race) used to listen to the likes of them and my dad who is white also listened to the likes of Aretha Frankiln, and he loved James Brown and Ive grown up in a RnB and soul environment, also listening to Red hot...Black people are usualy just umed nowadays to listen and like Hip Hop and if one of us likes rock its like why are you going against your own culture? When the likes of Jimmy Hendriz etc as you say were leaders in that field. Im not denying that hip hop now is good but i think that the real meaning of Hip Hop/RnB is going, the 90s was when it was at its best we used to have TLC who were and are the best, Boys2Men, Tupac and Biggie, now Rap is just about cars, money jewelery etc. There is so much that black musicians can do but everyones tied to stereotypes, I agree that there are underground jazz artists etc bu they need to be taken seriously and the reason they arent is because they are expected to be rappers or in that genre.
